Manulife Hong Kong and Macau has recently identified fraudulent emails impersonating our company. The sender shown in these emails is: 香港MAFIEL <mafiel.sunwg-warpservices.co.za@shared1.ccsend.com>. Please note that these emails and their contents were not issued by Manulife.

The emails claim that a “premium recalculation has been completed” and that a credit balance is available for withdrawal. Recipients are asked to select a payment method via an online platform within 12 hours, failing which the amount will become invalid.

If you receive such emails, please do not click on any links or provide any personal or financial information, and delete the email immediately.

Manulife would like to clarify that we will never request customers to provide credit card details or any sensitive personal information via email or embedded links, nor will we arrange any time-limited payment or collection requests through such means.

Please be cautious of fraudulent SMS messages. Manulife will only send SMS to Hong Kong mobile numbers using a Registered SMS Sender ID that begins with "#Manulife."

Regarding MPF cold calls, please click here. Besides, Manulife and its agents would not invite or claim to assist clients to withdraw accrued benefits from MPF accounts.  If you receive suspicious calls from any individuals impersonating “Manulife”, claiming to assist in withdrawing accrued benefits from MPF accounts, please do not provide any personal information and/ or MPF account information to suspicious individuals.

Beware of scams! Do not provide bank, credit card, investment, insurance and MPF account or other key personal information via hyperlinks embedded in suspicious messages purported to be coming from our institution!

Protect your personal data by keeping your Manulife customer website login password safe and change your password regularly. Manulife will never call you or send any SMS/email asking for your Manulife customer website login password. Stay vigilant for suspicious phone calls, emails, websites, apps and hyperlinks embedded in instant electronic messages, etc. allegedly related to Manulife. If you receive any calls claiming to be from Manulife, authenticate the caller’s identity (e.g. full name of the advisor and his/her Insurance/MPF Intermediary License No. or full name of the Manulife customer service officer). If the caller refuses to disclose such information, please do not continue with the conversation. Also, if you notice any suspicious transaction activities in your account with Manulife, or any account that is under your name but not set up by you, please inform us immediately. Manulife’s Exclusive Partnership with Guardant Health to Bring their Multi-Cancer Detection (MCD) test* to Eligible Customers

Manulife is the first insurer in Asia pioneering to have an exclusive partnership with Guardant Health, a global leader in blood-based cancer testing with over a decade of experience+, marking the first introduction of their Multi-Cancer Detection (MCD) test* in Asia including Hong Kong.

Through this partnership, Manulife Hong Kong will introduce MCD test* by Guardant Health to Hong Kong market, enabling eligible customers to access the MCD test* at partnered clinical providers to further strengthen our health positioning and advance our ambition to become the ‘Health Partner of Choice’ in Hong Kong.

  1. The Multi-Cancer Detection (“MCD”) test and related services are third-party medical screening services provided by Guardant Health Pte. Ltd. (“Guardant Health”) and its appointed service providers (“Service”). Manulife’s role is strictly limited to providing eligible customers with access to the Service and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, recommendation, or endorsement. Manulife and its intermediaries do not provide any medical or clinical services, medical advice or medical recommendations, and make no representation or warranty regarding the accuracy, availability, or results of the MCD test.
  2. Codex Genetics Limited, as Guardant Health’s appointed distributor and service operator in Hong Kong (“Codex”), and selected medical providers are solely responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the Service. Manulife is not involved in, and accepts no responsibility for, the arrangement, provision, or outcomes of any medical services. The costs of any additional services shall be borne by the customers and shall be determined between the customers and Codex.
  3. Customers should assess for themselves whether the MCD test is appropriate for their personal circumstances and consult qualified medical professionals (including medical professionals from select medical providers arranged by Codex as part of the delivery of the Service) before undergoing the tests.
  4. The MCD test is not a diagnostic test and does not confirm the presence or absence of cancer. Test results may involve false positives or false negatives. Customers should consult qualified medical professionals (including medical professionals from select medical providers arranged by Codex as part of the delivery of the Service) for interpretation of results and advice on any further diagnostic testing or medical management.
  5. Customers should note that MCD test results may impact new insurance underwriting, policy change applications, and claims assessment. Any information generated or disclosed in the course of the Services, including without limitation to MCD test results, shall not constitute actual, constructive, or deemed knowledge of Manulife and shall not affect Manulife’s right to contest any policies issued or to be issued, unless the information has been formally disclosed to Manulife. Customers are required to fully and truthfully disclose any MCD test results and/or any related medical information during the new business underwriting, policy change applications and claims application processes where such information is requested, in accordance with applicable disclosure obligations.
  6. Guardant Health and its appointed service providers (including Codex) are independent contractors and are not employees, agents, or servants of Manulife. Manulife shall not be responsible or liable for any services, diagnosis, advice, treatment, or other acts or omissions of any service providers.
  7. The Service is subject to the terms and conditions of Guardant Health and its appointed service providers (including Codex), including those relating to availability, operational arrangements, and applicable medical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  8. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Manulife accepts no liability (whether in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise) for any death, personal injury, loss, damage, cost, or expense arising from or in connection with the use of the MCD test, including matters relating to service quality, test results, or any medical advice provided by third parties.
